Home Sweet Home!

I have never appreciated home more in my whole life!  There is nothing more comforting than being surrounded by family and friends.  We left Joplin as soon as Jeff got off work so we could get home to sleep in our own bed.  Little Violet did amazingly well!  She slept the whole way with a stop in the Ozarks to see Grandpa and Grandma Barney.  It was so great to see them!  We made it home by 11:00 and were greeted with a dusted house, full fridge, clean sheets, and changed smoke detectors!  Thanks Mom and Penny!  It was such a great  feeling to walk into our clean house!  The plan was to keep Violet in her bassinet for just one more night, so we could get adjusted and then put her in her crib.  Well, when we got home we decided to take the plunge and put her straight in her crib, equipped with a video monitor and breathing monitor. (Yes, we are those parents)  She slept great and loves it!  She likes to spread her arms so one is touching the bumper pad and the other is touching her lamb sound machine.

Since we have been home Violet has changed so much!  She is rolling over again and using her feet as hands!  She likes to try and grab her toys with them when laying on her play mat.  She also uses her legs to spin herself around.  She sticks them straight up in the air and then throws them down across her body to spin.  So funny!   She also goes for rides in her jogging stroller, sits in a bumbo seat, and plays in an activity center!  I can't believe it!

We started cereal a few nights ago.  I had these beautiful visions of Violet sleeping until 8:00 in the morning as soon as she started cereal.  Well, she doesn't like cereal and is getting up earlier than ever!  Poor girl gets it in her mouth, spits it out and then cries. :(  We are going to keep on trying and start cereal earlier in the evening when she isn't so tired.  Hopefully she will get the hand of it soon!

Little Violet is now a world traveler and socialite.  She just spent the weekend with the Sparks family for her cousin Jada's first birthday!  She was surrounded by family and friends and is starting to adjust to so many people in her life.  Jada's party was so sweet and I can't believe Violet will be that big soon!  She also got to see Grandpa and Grandma Barney for Tiff's birthday.  They came in town to surprise her (so sweet).  She also made it to Brenna's wedding reception and Small Group!  Her bubble is starting to widen!  Still no Wal-Mart or school, but we should make it there by June I am thinking!

Jeff and Violet had there first Daddy Daughter Day!  I went shopping in Columbia with Mom and Tiff for Tiff's birthday.  We hada blast and Jeff and Violet did great!  He sent me pictures throughout the day so I could see her which was so adorable!  I still send him a daily picture when he is at work.  I have never had a more fun shopping trip!  This is the first time I have got to go shopping for Violet on a shopping trip.  It was the best feeling in the world to walk into a children's store and get to shop for my baby!  I smiled the whole day!
